Come and join us for tea & Taize-style service reflecting on Pentecost at Windsor Methodist Church, Alma Road SL4 3HH. This is a joint event organised by members of the Anglican, Baptist, Catholic, Methodist and United Reform church communities in Windsor. We hope that it will be an opportunity for all Christians to celebrate Pentecost together. The service will offer a quiet hour of readings, reflection, chants and prayer, and is the final service of the ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ initiative hosted by Churches Together in Windsor which asks us to pray for more people to turn to Christ (see https://www.thykingdomcome.global/about). Tea & cakes will be served from 5pm. For further information please contact Rosemary Willis r@rosemarywillis.me or Pat Smith windsorstjohn@msn.com
Congratulations to our star!
Helen, one of our most conscientious Sunday School attendees is, for those of you who may not know, also an extremely competent and dedicated gymnast. In February this year she came runner up in the Berkshire Grades Female Artistic Gymnastics, Grade 2 competition qualifying for entry into South of England Region Female Artistic Gymnastics finals. Helen had a brilliant day and won overall becoming South of England Region Gymnastics Club Grade 2 Champion winning five gold medals (Floor, Bars, Beam and Range and Conditioning), and one silver (Vault)! The event was held at Dynamo Gymnastics Club near Southampton on the 24th March.
Many congratulations Helen on your fantastic achievement from all your Church family!

Prayers for Kemerovo
The President of the Methodist Conference, the Revd Loraine N Mellor, and the Vice-President, Jill Baker, have called for all Methodists to pray for those affected by the fire that engulfed a shopping and entertainment complex in the Siberian coal-mining city of Kemerovo, killing at least 64 people, the majority of whom were children.
The President said “Our hearts, thoughts and prayers go to the families and friends of those who were killed and injured, and to all affected in whatever way by this horrific and preventable fire.”
The President shared the following prayers:
‘Sisters and brothers in Christ, at this time of death and parting, we are confident that God knows us and is with us. As we seek the strength and comfort of God, let us bring our confusion and sorrow, our anger and pain, and lay them before God.
God of infinite compassion, look in love on those who mourn. Be their support and strength that they may trust in you. And be delivered out of their distress; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.’

Christian Aid Update
Despite the wintry weather, the Christian Aid Service last Sunday evening was well attended and an uplifting occasion. The collection for Christian Aid’s work in Kenya (including gift-aided donations) amounted to £736.50 which will be matched by the UK government. A big thank you to everyone who took part in the Service, to the many helpers behind the scenes, and to those who generously provided mince pies and other goodies for the refreshments.
We would also like to thank those who braved the cold on November 25th for the Christian Aid street collection. This raised over £500.
