Dear Friends
As we greet the sunshine once more, we may briefly forget the misery of a cold church in the middle of January. Tempted though I was to write to you at that time, the widespread concern and financial difficulty created by the sudden and massive increase in fuel prices made it unkind to add to the burden on the congregation. However, it cannot be denied that the summer is running by at a great speed, and soon autumn and harvest festivals will submit to November and days of remembrance and before we know it, impossible though it may seem at this point when the sun is shining so very brightly, we will be battling with the cold and an intransigent heating system once more. We desperately need to invest in a new boiler and up-to-date heating in the halls and the church and although the leadership team are not recommending that we pull everything out and start again, we are nevertheless looking to raise a significant sum of money, something in the region of £40 000, in order to allow us to enjoy our church and sanctuary all year round.
As part of this fundraising, we are having a gift day on the 15th of July. Vicci will be in her office at the church between 10 and 12 and tea, coffee, juice and cake will be on offer should you wish to drop in and make a donation by cheque or via our “Dona” card machine. Alternatively, you can make a donation via BACS transfer and Vicci or Phil, the church treasurer, will be happy to help you set that up if you need the relevant numbers.
Thank you for all you do to contribute to the work and worship of your church at Windsor and I hope to see many of you on the 15th .
God bless
Revd Vicci Davidson
